Can’t believe we are parents…!

So, Brandon promised that I would write a blog about my experience of having a baby here in Ukraine. I am pretty sure that sparing the details of labor and delivery would benefit anyone who has yet to experience childbirth and anyone who doesn’t really want to be reminded of the experience. Seriously, I’ll just say it was more than I bargained for. I am pretty sure I could have been diagnosed as clinically insane at a few points, and I know I was praying outloud for hours…and by loud I mean like heaven could hear me without trying very hard. I was given 2 different medications that were supposed to speed up the labor process and make my contractions more “effective.” more…

She’s Here!!!!!

Elena Kathryn Schafer       Elena Kathrny Schafer    The Ladies
6lbs 13oz 20.5 inch Elena Kathryn Schafer has finally decided to climb out. More details when I can think straight but thank you for your prayers. Em’s water broke in bed this morning at 6:30 after a few hours of contractions. Ellie was born at 5pm. It has been a long and scream filled day.
Update - Mom and baby are home in record time for Ukraine. Less than 45 hours, typical stay is 4 days. I will get Em to post her experience when she feels up to sitting here. All is well and thank you for your prayers.

New Website Not Finished…

Hey everyone,
I am in the middle of creating this new website. As you can see it is not finished and still needs a lot of work. But I am posting it anyway. The reason is that a lot of you have wanted accounts so you can add comments now that Ellie has been born. Well if you all make accounts now next week they will no longer be useful and I will have to move all of you wonder comments here manually. Sooo I decided to do the un-professional thing and post my unfinished website today. Hope you done mind and that it is easier to use and a little more inviting. You can all post comments without creating accounts. I have actually disabled accounts because it’s just one more thing to do. You must put a name and e-mail address to post comments though. This is so I can verify you are a really person. Your e-mail addresses are not actually stored anywhere it is just something you must enter then it is deleted. Also if you post a comment and do not see it right away. It is because my Anti-Spam protection has stopped it. I will release it as soon as I get the email. So happy posting and let me know if you thing something should be changed or is broken.

— I have not had a chance to test this site on different computers. If you think something is wrong or doesn’t look right please give me a heads up.

Thanks,
B
